About Doodie
It has always been my dream to live by the sea and having
recently moved to Cornwall, I am finding inspiration in the rugged Atlantic coastline and ever changing seas. I am therefore working
on more seascapes to add to my fantasy fields, quirky people and magical buildings.
I like to feel that my work appeals to all ages and I enjoy encouraging very young artists to explore their potential. I draw wherever I am and I am pleased when people stop to chat and take an interest in my work.
My favourite place is Bodhi's Cafe on South Fistral Beach, where the coffee, food and friendly staff are all wonderful. Andrew and Andrea opened Bodhi's last year and have turned it into a great place to eat, meet and generally have fun by the sea.
I enjoy working with coloured pencils, which can be seen as an old-fashioned medium, and then creating something more modern and unusual. I often have no idea what will appear on the page, so each piece of work is an exciting adventure for me.
I love to see the smiles on peoples' faces when they look at my drawings and I do hope that they bring you as much pleasure as they have me.
I have exhibited in Art @Delamore, The South West Academy Open Exhibition, The Royal Devon and Exeter Open, Exeter Open Studios as well as many solo shows.
